Know What Is in Your Lab
ScientivoLab keeps items, lots, and stock as separate concepts — the way labs actually work. An item is the product you buy. A lot is a physical batch of it, with its own expiry date. Stock is quantity in a place: a specific lot sitting in a specific freezer. That structure is what makes expiry tracking and location queries possible at all.
Track Lots and Expiry Dates
Every lot carries its own expiry date. A dedicated expiry page sorts everything into expired and expiring-within-30/60/90-day buckets, and lots expiring within 30 days surface on the dashboard.
Know Where Everything Is
Model your rooms, freezers, and shelves as a location hierarchy, then put stock where it lives. Stock rows record quantity per location, so "do we have any of X?" and "where is it?" are one search.
Prevent Stockouts
Set a minimum stock level per item. Anything below it lands in a low-stock queue with the reorder gap, links to the supplier, and feeds dashboard alerts and scheduled email digests.
A Real Movement History
Every stock change — receiving, using, adjusting, removing — is recorded as a movement with the resulting quantity, so discrepancies have a trail instead of a shrug.
Import Existing Inventory
Upload a CSV of your items — the importer validates every row, shows a preview, and only writes what you confirm. Columns cover name, category, description, minimum stock, units, supplier, product code, and price. No consultants, no re-entry of thousands of records.
- Validate → preview → confirm, in the browser
- Rows land in your active organization
- Categories and suppliers matched as you go

Replace Laboratory Inventory Spreadsheets
Spreadsheets are fine at 50 rows and one caretaker. They stop working when several people edit at once, when expiry dates live in someone's head, when nobody is sure which copy is current, and when "who used the last of the PBS?" has no answer. A shared system with per-lot expiry, minimum stock, locations, and a movement history removes those failure modes — without becoming an enterprise LIMS.
Inventory is part of the whole lab
ScientivoLab also tracks research samples with location history and aliquots, and manages equipment and SOPs in the same system.
